Another suggestion as a theft deterrent for all of you is to cut your door lock knobs. It seems to me that most petty thieves open up our doors by pulling back the drivers or passenger side window at the top-rear corner. They'll stick thier arm in or some grabbing object to pull up your door lock knob and then they're in for the stereo and other valuables. This is how they stole the stereo out of my '86 non-turbo Regal. After that happened I decided to cut my door lock knobs on that car and my '87 Turbo-T. Check your weather stripping along this corner to see if its torn, maybe someone already tried on your car, but wasn't successful.

You all probably think you don't want to mess with the originality or make your knobs look like %&*$, but I did a nice job. I purchased some aftermarket chrome knobs minus the bulb at the end at a local auto parts store. I had to cut the threaded metal stud that holds the knob and drill the hole deeper into the new knob to make the top of the new knob flush with the knob hole. It was kind of a pain-staking process, but it came out looking like it was stock and I feel better when I park my car on the street or in a big parking lot. I would suggest you guys practicing on some old car parts from a junkyard before putting that Dremmel tool to your prize possesion. Good luck!
