I agree with you, I just changed my stock turbo to a TA49 about 2 months now, I'm running the Ta49 with the Pte exhaust housing with the stock converter, like everybody said above a little bit more lag down low but pulls alot stronger in the top end. If you want the garrett housing give Kirban a call and see if he has any stock cores which he sends out and has that version of the TA49 made.
