8 sec. Car is scary to watch in a TR Body. I remember Delisandro's car crashing and totaling the car! Others too! That speed is truly running on the edge in a G-Body. Duttweiller put his GN's drive train in a F-Body and ran in the high 6's. I remember reading about the GNXs running over 150 mph and the rear end gets light and leaves the ground. I remember seeing a twin turbo car that cost $110K to build, all the expensive parts of course. A NHRA Legal Car of course costs a lot more money and yes the GS Nats allows car to run that are un-safe, even the TSM Class! A tube chassis, 4-link rear suspension, a legal roll bar, all the other safety stuff would be required, like a Pro-stock wing. That 8.5" Rear End will break for sure. Our local guy, Jack P.'s yellow car was built in a chassis shop and ran straight and true. Engines, that's another thing, BMS S2 Block are getting rare, that's for sure. Buddy Ingersol ran an Indy Block in his 7 sec car. I like those BMS cranks though, hoping to find one for my TA Engine, gun drilled rod journals, etc. (saw one in Pete B. old cars engine, that saw 40# of boost, no damage to the rods or crank and even the thrust side of the rod bearing, thats strength. I plan on spending about $15k on my TA Motor, another $7K on the car as mine will be fully streetable, and not a 8 sec car, with all the factory comforts working and my wife wants to grocery shop in it! He He (The Cold Weather is getting to me.) Gene PS. I'm going slow on my TA Engine so as not to be a TEST PILOT on these ENGINES.
