Something is very wrong here. I have used LOTS of aftermarket tensioners and find NO physical difference with the GM one?

Also, none of these, including GM, come with a bolt, re-use the original one.

Must have been a different problem that cracked your cover, wrong tensioner? I have had a counter person try to sell me the wrong one a few times.
